Hey, I’m Kori! My journey as a trail guide began well before I created Empowered Neuro Mom. Diagnosed as a neurodivergent adult in my late 30s, I quickly saw similar traits in my daughters. It was like finally finding a trail map, bringing clarity to so much of my life.
Growing up, I had big dreams. I wanted to be a cowgirl, then a barrel racer in the rodeo—always drawn to adventure and the wide-open trail. One of my all-time favorite book series was Little House on the Prairie, and I spent some of my best childhood summers at a horse-themed Girl Scout camp. And, of course, I loved the Oregon Trail computer game—maybe that’s why I proudly call myself part of the ‘Oregon Trail Generation,’ if I had to choose between Xennial or Elder Millennial!
As I researched how to support my autistic daughter, I noticed patterns in myself—sensory sensitivities, emotional outbursts, and executive functioning struggles. The journey to advocate for her became a journey of self-discovery. This inspired me to build Empowered Neuro Mom, where neurodivergent moms can feel seen, valued, and equipped with tools for the trail ahead.
Comfort Over Perfection: Whether I’m working in a hoodie or sharing stories on my podcast, I believe in showing up just as I am. Life isn’t polished, and neither is this space. Like the Oregon Trail, it’s about adapting, finding joy, and staying true to ourselves.
Connection on Your Terms: Support should fit your life—not add pressure. Here, you can come as you are, whether in sweats or sipping coffee from your favorite mug.
A Community That Gets You: Every podcast episode, blog, and Facebook Live is crafted to help you feel seen, heard, and supported.
If you’re ready to embrace your empowered self and build a stronger bond with your daughter, let’s connect. Explore my support bundles, join our Facebook group, or dive into the Neurodivergent Mom Life podcast. Together, we’ll navigate this journey with authenticity, resilience, and maybe a few Princess Bride quotes along the way.
Coffee + Cats = Happiness: My mornings start with coffee, and my three cats are always nearby—either knocking things over or curling up in my lap.
Down-to-Earth with a Twist of Humor: From Princess Bride quotes to true crime docs, I keep it real (and a bit witty).
80s and 90s Kid at Heart: Goonies, Spaceballs, Rainbow Brite, and Sabrina bring comfort, nostalgia, and adventure.
Practical Woo Meets Psychology: I blend Oracle cards, Astrology, and psychology to create grounded yet mystical guidance.
Pop Culture Buff: Batman, Marvel, and Star Trek often sneak into my daily musings—parenting sometimes feels a bit like Jedi training!
